Connecting/Our Networks

NETWORKS

The VSCS runs a number of other networks focusing on particular areas, please contact Polly Rawlings: polly@wandcareall.org.uk for more information on any of the following:

  • Children and Young People’s Network
  • Volunteer Involving Organisations (VIO) Network
  • Chief Officers’ Network

VOLUNTARY SECTOR FORUM

Quarterly, open to all sectors, information-giving, presentations, features the work of voluntary and community organisations in the borough, opportunity for discussion and, when in person, great networking opportunity.

CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S NETWORK

Quarterly, open to VCS organisations offering services to children, young people and families.  Information-giving, presentations, opportunity to learn about latest developments, the work of  other organisations working in this area and to discuss particular topics.  Has a role in developing the relationship between children’s services and the VCS.

VOLUNTEER INVOLVING ORGANISATIONS NETWORK

Quarterly, open to anyone from any sector who has responsibility for any aspect of the recruitment, management and retention of volunteers within their organisation.  Information giving, opportunity to discuss issues and challenges relating to volunteers and volunteering.

CHIEF OFFICERS’ NETWORK

Three meetings per year.  Open to chief executives/leaders of VCS organisations -, those who have ultimate or primary executive responsibility for the day-to-day running of their organisation or of a branch/subsidiary of a larger organisation. To ensure this criteria is met, membership and attendance is by application only.   Opportunity to discuss strategic issues facing their organisations; share leadership experiences in confidence with their peers.

If you wish to apply, please contact Melanie Nock: melanie@wandcareall.org.uk

HEALTH AND WELLBEING BOARD VCS ENGAGEMENT GROUP

Meets quarterly, normally the Monday immediately before the Health and Wellbeing Board meeting on Thursdays.  The purpose is to obtain feedback for the elected voluntary sector representative on the H&WBB so they have information gained directly from the VCS to feed into its next meeting.  The focus of any discussion is therefore the H&WBB agenda.  Open to all in the VCS, the H&WBB Board manager and a Council and CCG representative may also be in attendance to help with clarification.

VOLUNTARY SECTOR REFERENCE GROUP

Quarterly, open to the 6 elected voluntary sector representatives only.  Acts as a link between VSCS and the VCS to enable the creation of partnerships; strengthen partnerships; encourage collaboration; ensure transparency and inclusivity of the VSCS; to use the intelligence from its voluntary sector representatives to identify what and where support for the VCS may be required; to help bring about wider engagement with a diverse range of voluntary and community groups.
