Healthwatch Wandsworth Committee Meeting

26/05/2022 by Comms Team

This is the meeting of our Healthwatch Committee in public. This will be a meeting to go through a number of agenda items relating to the Healthwatch Committee’s role in governance of Healthwatch Wandsworth. This is not an event to discuss health and social care topics with the community (we hold other events to do this).

The Healthwatch Committee’s role is to support strategic decisions on the direction of Healthwatch Wandsworth by supporting staff and volunteers and contributing to:

  • good governance and decision making
  • strategic planning
  • risk assessment and policy development
  • monitoring performance.

The Committee sits within the Wandsworth Care Alliance (WCA) governance structure and is locally accountable so that WCA is able to meet its corporate responsibilities and contractual duties and act lawfully at all times.

The Healthwatch Committee has eight voting members, four are WCA Trustees (of whom one is Chair), and four members are elected from among the Healthwatch Wandsworth membership. Elected Committee members are elected every three years. View this page for more information about Committee members.

20/05/2022 by Comms Team

Over the last few months a number of Wandsworth Welcomes Refugees volunteers have been hard at work compiling a detailed directory that aims to help refugees, asylum seekers and resettled people find local support and facilities. It can also be used by others, including individuals or groups supporting displaced people, to find out more about the resources and services that exist, both at a local and national level. The latest version is available below.

This is a new resource that they’ll be updating on a rolling basis, so please let them know if you have any suggestions, including other organisations they should add: wandsworthwelcomesrefugees@gmail.com
