Voluntary Sector Coordination Service – Healthy Communities Project Officer
WCA is delivering a programme of community-based health messaging that seeks to address health inequalities in the borough whilst also empowering and building capacity within grassroots community organisations. We will do this through a grants programme offering short term funding to organisations working within Wandsworth to deliver health messaging, including COVID-19 vaccination, signposting, advocacy, and peer support through Community Champions recruited and managed by organisations in receipt of the grants.
These Community Champions will focus on delivering health messaging and increasing trust to help improve health and wellbeing in those communities most affected by health inequalities.
We are looking for a part-time Healthy Communities Project Officer to help us achieve this. You will manage the whole grants programme – from helping groups to apply to evaluating the projects to developing sustainability strategies where appropriate. You will also bring grantees together to share experiences as well as liaising with other organisations within the borough delivering similar projects, including statutory partners, to ensure learning is disseminated widely.
